Prisa at least lay off 2,500 workers Moss


Haste The new owners, the investment company Liberty Acquisition Holdings Corp, have not hesitated to take tough decisions to try to clean up a media group with a debt of nearly 5,000 million. First was the sale of Four to Telecinco, after closing CNN +, the layoffs in its economic 'Five Days' and now confirms that dispense Prisa of at least 2,500 workers, amounting to the reduction of 18% of its workforce. But the group editor of 'El PaĆ­s' does not rule out a second in which increasing the number of employees affected outside Spain. Prisa
explained in a note to the staff restructuring "will last until the first quarter of 2012 and has among its objectives the preservation of the greatest number of jobs." The decision to dispense with these 2,500 jobs, will affect 2,000 people in Spain and another 500 in Portugal and America. Via
