Prohibited to place children for adoption

On March 10, 2011 the Vatican newspaper, L'Osservatore Romano , echoed the veto that the High Court of Justice of England and Wales had imposed a Pentecostal Christian couple to adopt babies.

The reason given by the court was of a "moral" Christian marriage (Owen and Eunice Johns) opposed to the teaching of homosexuality as natural and this was seen as "hostile" for education of children.

In 2010 the British government passed a law known as the "Equality Act". That law worth thinking and express views which run counter to social approval of homosexuality.

As the article said L'Osservatore Romano of (cf. 11.03.2011, p. 7), citing statements of marriage, "We have excluded the possibility to adopt moral views based on our faith and, therefore, a child has difficulty probably lost the opportunity to meet and care home safe. "

"We do not believe-continue-that our moral principles are harmful. Being a Christian does not mean being hostile in relation to the law and should not be an obstacle for growth and education of children."

The "Equality Act" vetoes any discrimination in relation to homosexuality. In 2010 the Catholic Church the UK had managed to leave orphanages as was required by law to give children to same-sex couples.

In September 2010 trip to Britain, Benedict XVI said in meeting with representatives of civil society : "Religion is not a problem that legislators must solve, but a vital contribution to the debate country. From this point of view, I can not but express my concern at the increasing marginalization of religion, especially Christianity, in some parts, even in nations that place a strong emphasis on tolerance. There are some who wish that the voice of religion muted, or at least be relegated to the purely private sphere. "
